"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."Colossians 3:23 · KJV · Quarter Anchor
After spending the first half of the year becoming anchored in the Word and realigned in worship, God now calls His people into action. July is about movement. Faith is not merely believed; it is demonstrated through obedience.
This month, we will discover that God blesses believers who move when He speaks, who engage in His mission, and who become active participants in advancing His Kingdom. We are not called to simply attend church. We are called to be the Church wherever God sends us.
Good morning, church family. As we enter the third quarter of our Faith Shift journey, we are entering a new season together.
During the first quarter, God anchored us in His Word. He reminded us that every lasting transformation begins with truth. During the second quarter, He realigned our hearts in worship. He drew us back into His presence and taught us that worship is more than a song. It is a surrendered life.
Now God is asking us a simple question: "What will you do with what I've been teaching you?" Faith was never intended to remain inside these four walls. Faith moves.
Throughout Scripture, whenever God called someone, movement followed. He told Noah to build. He told Moses to go. He told Joshua to cross over. He told Peter to step out of the boat. He told the disciples to leave their nets. And after His resurrection, Jesus gave one final command before ascending to heaven: "Go." Notice that He did not say, "Wait until you feel ready." He didn't say, "Go once everything makes sense." He simply said, "Go."
Sometimes we want the entire blueprint before taking the first step. But God often gives direction one step at a time. Abraham is a perfect example. Genesis 12 tells us that God instructed him to leave everything familiar. God didn't hand Abraham a detailed itinerary. He gave him a promise and expected obedience.
Faith often requires movement before understanding. Some of us have been praying for clarity while God has been waiting for obedience. The next chapter of your life may not begin because you learn something new. It may begin because you finally act on what God has already said.
This week, ask yourself: What conversation have I been avoiding? What opportunity has God placed before me? Who has He called me to encourage? What act of obedience have I delayed because I wanted certainty instead of faith?
The Kingdom advances every time ordinary believers say yes to extraordinary obedience. As a church, we are becoming a people who move when God speaks. We are no longer spectators. We are participants in God's mission.
This week, don't wait for perfect conditions. Take the first step. Because God guides those who are willing to move.
Last week we challenged ourselves to take the first step. This week we discover something important. Every step of faith eventually leads us beyond our comfort zone.
Peter knew exactly what it felt like to be safe. The boat represented security. It represented what he understood. It represented control. But Jesus wasn't calling Peter to stay comfortable. He was calling him to become something greater. Peter's miracle did not happen inside the boat. It happened when he stepped beyond it.
Can I suggest something to you? Many of us are asking God to enlarge our lives while doing everything possible to remain comfortable. We pray for greater purpose but resist inconvenience. We pray for greater impact but avoid risk. We pray for stronger faith while staying where faith isn't required. The Kingdom doesn't grow inside our comfort zones. Neither do we.
Every believer has a "boat." For some, it's fear of rejection. For others, it's insecurity. For some, it's routine. For others, it's past disappointment. Whatever keeps us from fully obeying Christ can become a boat that limits our growth.
Jesus never promised Peter there would be no wind. He simply invited him to come. Faith is not the absence of storms. Faith is trusting Jesus in the middle of them.
As we continue our Faith Shift journey, God is inviting us beyond what feels familiar. Perhaps He's calling you to serve. Perhaps He's calling you to forgive. Perhaps He's calling you to share your testimony. Perhaps He's calling you to lead. Perhaps He's calling you to invest in someone else's spiritual growth.
Don't allow comfort to become your destination. God has prepared greater things on the other side of obedience. As a church, we refuse to settle for comfortable Christianity. We choose courageous obedience. Because we know that when Jesus says, "Come," His grace is already waiting where He's leading.
Church family, over the past two weeks God has been moving us. Week one challenged us to take the first step of obedience. Week two reminded us that growth begins beyond our comfort zone. Now we arrive at an important question. Where is God sending us?
When Jesus promised the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:8, He also gave His followers their assignment. "You shall receive power...and you shall be witnesses." Notice the order. The Holy Spirit was not given simply so believers could feel encouraged. He was given so believers could become effective witnesses.
Everything God pours into us is meant to flow through us. The Word strengthens us so we can strengthen others. Worship transforms us so we can point others to Christ. Faith matures us so we can help others grow.
The Kingdom has always expanded through ordinary people who were willing to share an extraordinary Savior. Andrew brought Peter. Philip invited Nathanael. The Samaritan woman returned to her city. The early church scattered because of persecution, but wherever they went, they preached Christ. They understood something we must never forget. We are blessed to become a blessing.
Sometimes we think witnessing requires a microphone or a platform. More often, it begins with a conversation. It begins with kindness. It begins with serving someone who cannot repay us. It begins with praying for a neighbor. It begins with inviting someone to church. It begins with sharing what Jesus has done in our own lives.
Can I encourage you this morning? There are people in your workplace, your neighborhood, your family, and your circle of influence who may never walk into a church until someone first walks toward them. Perhaps that someone is you.
God has uniquely positioned every one of us exactly where we are. Your workplace is a mission field. Your neighborhood is a mission field. Your school is a mission field. Your family is a mission field. Wherever God has placed you, He has also planted purpose.
This month is called Go because Jesus never intended for His Church to remain stationary. The Gospel has always been carried by people willing to go.
As a church, we are asking the Lord to give us eyes to see people the way He sees them. Not as interruptions. Not as projects. But as sons and daughters He deeply loves. This week, ask the Holy Spirit to place one person on your heart. Pray for them. Encourage them. Invite them. Love them well. You may never know how one simple act of obedience changes someone's eternity.
Church family, today we conclude our July journey. What a journey it has been. God first called us to move in obedience. Then He invited us beyond our comfort. Last week He reminded us that our faith must reach others. Today, He calls us to something even greater. A life lived on mission.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He gathered His disciples and gave what we know as the Great Commission. He didn't simply give them information. He gave them identity. They were now a sent people. That identity has never changed. The Church is still called to go.
Not just pastors. Not just missionaries. Not just ministry leaders. Every believer. Every generation. Every home. Every workplace. Every community.
Sometimes we think the mission begins when we arrive at church. Jesus teaches us that the mission begins when we leave it. Every Monday matters. Every conversation matters. Every opportunity matters. Every act of kindness matters. Every decision to forgive matters. Every invitation matters.
Kingdom impact is rarely built on one dramatic moment. More often, it is built through daily faithfulness. The person who consistently serves. The parent who faithfully disciples their children. The employee who works with integrity. The neighbor who continually shows compassion. The student who refuses to compromise. These ordinary acts become extraordinary because Christ is working through surrendered people.
Can I leave you with one final thought? Faith Shift has never been about changing seasons. It has always been about changing people. God has been preparing us throughout this year. He anchored us in His Word. He realigned us through worship. Now He activates us through obedience. The goal has never been attendance. The goal is transformation.
As we prepare for August, let us not leave this month inspired but unchanged. Let us become people who naturally live as ambassadors of Christ. Wherever we go, we carry hope. We carry peace. We carry truth. We carry compassion. Most importantly, we carry Jesus.
Church, we are not simply leaving this gathering. We are being sent. Go into your homes. Go into your workplaces. Go into your neighborhoods. Go into your schools. Go into your city. And let your life proclaim the goodness of God.
This progression reflects the heart of Quarter 3: Activate — Go, Gather, Grow — moving the church from inward preparation to outward Kingdom impact.
Leader: Church, let us declare God's Word together.
Today, we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over our lives, our homes, our church, and our community. We are His disciples, called according to His purpose and empowered by His Spirit. We choose to walk by faith and not by sight. We are not hearers only, but doers of the Word.
We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. We are ambassadors for Christ, representatives of His Kingdom wherever we go. We are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Our lives point people to Jesus.
We will move when God speaks. We will trust Him beyond our understanding. We will not allow fear, comfort, or uncertainty to keep us from His purpose. We choose faith over fear, obedience over excuses, and surrender over self-will. Our steps are ordered by the Lord, and we delight in His way.
We will love people the way Christ loves them. We will share the hope of the Gospel with boldness and compassion. We will serve with excellence, forgive quickly, encourage generously, and live with integrity. Our homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods are mission fields where God's love will be seen through us.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to be faithful witnesses. He gives us wisdom, courage, discernment, and strength for every assignment. Doors of opportunity are opening before us. Divine appointments are being prepared. Hearts are ready to receive the Good News of Jesus Christ.
As we go, God goes before us. As we obey, He establishes our steps. As we plant, He brings the increase. We believe lives will be transformed, families restored, prodigals returned, disciples multiplied, and communities impacted for the glory of God.
We are activated by the Spirit. We are equipped by the Word. We are strengthened through worship. We are committed to God's work. This is our Faith Shift. We will GO. We will GATHER. We will GROW.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that You alone are worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Thank You for Your faithfulness through every season of our lives. Thank You for anchoring us in Your Word, drawing us into deeper worship, and now calling us into lives of faithful obedience.
Your Word declares in Psalm 119:105 that Your Word is "a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Today, we confess that we do not walk by our own wisdom, but by Your truth. Lead us, Lord, and we will follow.
Father, thank You for reminding us that faith is more than what we believe. Faith is how we live. James 2:17 tells us that "faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." Forgive us for the times we have delayed obedience, chosen comfort over calling, or waited for certainty instead of trusting Your voice. Renew our hearts today. Give us a fresh desire to respond immediately whenever You speak.
Lord, we pray that You would activate this house for Your purposes. Just as You called Abraham to leave the familiar, Moses to confront Pharaoh, Esther to stand for her people, Peter to step out of the boat, and the early Church to carry the Gospel to the nations, we ask that You would awaken the same spirit of courageous obedience within us.
Remove every spirit of fear, hesitation, complacency, and distraction. Your Word reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7 that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. We receive that promise today. Strengthen every believer to walk confidently in the assignments You have prepared.
Holy Spirit, open our eyes to the people around us. Give us the compassion of Christ. Help us to see every conversation as an opportunity to reflect Your love, every act of kindness as an opportunity to reveal Your character, and every place You have planted us as a mission field. Let our homes become places of peace. Let our workplaces become places of integrity. Let our schools become places of influence. Let our communities experience the hope of Jesus because we are present.
Father, make us a church that goes. May we not simply gather on Sundays, but faithfully represent Christ every day of the week. Help us to love those who are difficult to love, encourage those who are discouraged, pray for those who are hurting, and serve without seeking recognition. Teach us to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever You send us.
Lord, we pray for divine appointments throughout this month. Order our steps according to Your Word, as Psalm 37:23 declares. Lead us to people whose hearts You have already prepared. Give us wisdom to know what to say, discernment to know when to speak, and humility to listen well. Let every conversation be seasoned with grace and truth.
We pray for those in our families who have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ. Draw them by Your Spirit. Remove every spiritual blindfold. Soften hardened hearts. Restore broken relationships. Let salvation come to our households according to Your promise in Acts 16:31.
We lift up every ministry of this church before You. Strengthen our pastors, elders, ministers, deacons, volunteers, worship teams, teachers, intercessors, youth leaders, and every person who serves. Refresh them with new strength. Protect them from discouragement. Fill them continually with the joy of the Lord, for Your joy is our strength.
Lord, bless the work of our hands. As Colossians 3:23 teaches us, may we work heartily, as unto the Lord and not unto men. Let excellence mark everything we do. May our integrity honor You. May our businesses, careers, ministries, and daily responsibilities become platforms through which Your Kingdom is revealed.
We pray for those carrying heavy burdens today. You know every concern, every unanswered prayer, every diagnosis, every financial need, every family struggle, and every hidden battle. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider; Jehovah Rapha, our Healer; Jehovah Shalom, our Peace; and Jehovah Nissi, our Banner of victory. We place every burden into Your capable hands, believing that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
Father, let this month not simply be another page on the calendar. Let it become a defining moment in the life of this church. Let faith become action. Let obedience become our lifestyle. Let compassion become our witness. Let disciples become disciple-makers. Let this congregation become known as a people who faithfully follow wherever Christ leads.
As we leave this place each week, remind us that we are not dismissed from Your presence. We are sent into the world as ambassadors of Jesus Christ. Fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit. Give us boldness like the early Church. Give us wisdom for every decision. Give us endurance to remain faithful. Give us joy that cannot be shaken. And let everything we do bring glory to the name of Jesus.
And we believe that through Your power, lives will be transformed, families restored, communities renewed, and Your Kingdom advanced.
For Yours is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
In the mighty, matchless, and victorious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
